Nate Rails is a Canadian hard rock guitarist with heavy influence from American 80’s Glam Metal and British 70’s Classic Rock. He’s been playing guitar since 2015. He currently has an acoustic guitar, a Telecaster and an Ibanez GIO. He’s tried out many gear over time, and is trying to perfect his tone.
Early Life
Nate Rails was born on April 4, 2003 in Niagara Falls, Ontario. He was put up for adoption as a baby, and got taken home by a family a month after birth. He’s still with this family to this day. At five years of age, he was diagnosed with Autism. His parents would then get support for him.
On his twelfth birthday, Nate would get his first guitar. He would play it all the time, and he even once did early in the morning. In grade seven and eight, he would use his guitar to perform at his school talent show. The school was impressed.
As Nate’s playing evolved, he became more of a rock guitarist, and his acoustic guitar wasn’t giving him the tone he wanted. In grade nine, his birth father would give him a Telecaster. He started spending a lot of time playing with it.
In January of 2018, Nate would start playing lead guitar for his church choir. He has been doing that every Sunday to this day.
In Summer of 2018, Nate started experimenting with half-step down tuning, and he got into 80’s Glam Metal, but the church choir required standard tuning, so he got an Ibanez GIO, which he got his uncle to setup for half-step down tuning, and used his Tele in standard. The Ibanez GIO also has a tremolo arm, which he really enjoys messing around with.
In search of tone, Nate is now trying to perfect his guitar rig. He’s trying to build a rig, and that can accommodate for bedroom volumes and large venues. Good tone and gig worthy volume are important to him.
